Prosecutors seek life sentence in Lubbock woman’s ‘inhumane’ stabbing death

Courtney Boyd, an assistant Lubbock County district attorney, stood before jurors Tuesday and used her opening statement to prepare them for the gruesome case they were about to hear. She told them that, after hearing the evidence in the case, she was confident they would find the only punishment that would bring justice to the family of a slain 23-year-old woman was a life sentence for her killer, Ruben Ramos III.

“Nothing changes the cruelty of the crime you’re going to see,” she said. “Nothing fixes the inhumane way Nakasha Nolan died.”

A 35-year-old Milledgeville man accused in the execution-style shooting death of a woman at a local store Tuesday afternoon had previously been arrested six times since 2002, The Union-Recorder has learned.

Two of the victim’s grandchildren, an 8-year-old third-grader at an elementary school in Baldwin County, and his 6-year-old sister, a first-grader at the same school, witnessed the tragedy, Baldwin County Sheriff Bill Massee said.

Family will greet friends and others at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until time for the service, and then immediately after the service.

Man and woman found dead in apartment

OCALA, Fla. — Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after a man and woman were found dead in their home. According to OPD, the teens who live in the apartment were the first to find the bodies.

“No child should come home from school and see something like that,” said a neighbor, Patrick Bruce, who was there when the kids discovered the bodies.

A crime scene clean-up company, Accident Cleaners and Restoration, were cleaning up the scene Tuesday at an apartment on SW 31st Avenue in Ocala, where police say 48 year old Jose Rivera and 40 year old Idiomaris Pellot died.

“I came home, and the children were going back and forth around the apartment trying to get in, knocking on the door, knocking on the windows, ringing the doorbells,” said Bruce. “They didn’t speak too much english so I kind of just listened to a few words and I heard ‘morte’

Man, woman and 2 kids found dead in Colorado Springs home

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Authorities say four people, including two young children, were found dead of an apparent triple murder and suicide at a home in Colorado Springs.

The Gazette reported 5-year-old Laela Badillo, 8-year-old Rodolfo Badillo Jr. and 26-year-old Lucero Castillo died of gunshot wounds, and their deaths have been ruled homicides. Police suspect 29-year-old Rodolfo Alcantara, the fourth person found dead in the home, shot himself after killing the other three victims.

Police Lt. Howard Black says the bodies were found Tuesday night when officers were asked to do a welfare check at a home. He did not say how the four were related. No other details were released.

Neighbor Frances Bonilla, whose 8-year-old child played at the home, says they “looked like a nice little family,” making the news of the deaths all the more shocking.
