Grand jury to hear murder case of Odenville Middle School librarian – WBRC FOX6 News

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, AL (WBRC) –

A grand jury will hear the murder and theft case against a man accused of stabbing Odenville Middle School’s librarian and coach multiple times, in a dispute that arose out of a prostitution arrangement.

27-year-old D’Kota Chance Griffin is charged with intentional murder and second degree theft. He remains in the St. Clair County Jail in Ashville.

Griffin is accused of stabbing 46-year-old Michael Collins some 40 to 70 times on August 20.

In a preliminary hearing before Judge Alan Furr, St. Clair County sheriff’s Investigator Wayne Layton testified about a very bloody crime scene and two statements from Griffin in which he explained an arrangement between the two: they would meet every third weekend, at which point Griffin would be paid $250 to strip.

No bail for Revere man accused of brutally murdering beloved school teacher

BOSTON (WHDH) – A Revere man accused of brutally murdering his wife, a beloved school teacher in Lynn, was ordered Tuesday held behind bars without bail at his arraignment in Boston’s Suffolk Superior Court.

Andrew MacCormack, 29, pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder in the death of his wife Vanessa MacCormack, 30. Family members and loved ones packed the courthouse on behalf of Vanessa as prosecutors detailed the motivation behind the alleged killing.

“It followed increasing conflict in the marriage. Externally, to most people, things looked good. They had a nice house, a baby daughter and they both had steady work,” prosecutor Ian Polumbaum said.

Vanessa was found dead on a Saturday afternoon in September inside the couple’s home on Grand View Avenue in Revere. Prosecutors said Vanessa had been strangled, stabbed several times and suffocated with a trash bag.
