Ian Bush guilty of murdering judge, his wife, couple’s neighbour

OTTAWA — Ian Bush has been found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder in the gruesome killings of retired tax court judge Alban Garon, his wife, Raymonde, and their neighbour, Marie-Claire Beniskos.

The verdict was delivered Wednesday in an Ottawa courtroom.

In 2007, the three were beaten and suffocated to death with plastic bags in the Garons Riverside Drive condo.

The 77-year-old former judge, his 73-year-old wife and Beniskos, 78, were found in a pool of blood on the living-room floor the day after the killings by a worried relative. Alban Garon had a plastic bag over his head, and a hangmans noose around his neck.

After linking Bush to the killings in 2015, police searched his home and seized a toolkit for murder, which included duct tape, rubber gloves, a sawed-off rifle, ammunition and plastic bags.

Ottawa police also found a handwritten journal, anchored in the ramblings of a man who wrote that

Judge OKs new Cleveland police policies on the mentally ill

UPDATE @8:05 a.m. (March 8)

The lawyer for the man accused of assault after a fight in the Elsa’s parking lot said his defendant, Michael Ramey, was just defending himself.

James Christon said Michael Ramey and his friends were in Elsa’s when another group of three people started taunting them, telling them to be quiet and shut up.

The confrontation continued outside, and he said Ramey swung at a man who was going to hit him.

Christon said the fight was between Ramey and two others, not one-on-eight as the victim claims.

UPDATE @ 2:05 p.m. (March 6)

Michael Ramey entered a plea of not guilty to charges of obstructing official business and resisting arrest related to his apprehension by Dayton police on Sunday.

His bond has been set at $10,000.

He will be in Kettering court on Tuesday, March 7, for a hearing on an assault charge

Federal Judge: Cops Have Power to Make You Crap In Your Pants

For Toni Antonellis, a well-respected San Diego food entrepreneur, and Aaron Rothberg, a CHP officer who once worked on Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s protection detail, that question isn’t hypothetical.

Fate placed Antonellis and Rothberg together before noon on the southbound 5 freeway near El Toro Road on June 18, 2014. Earlier that day, Antonellis attended a food vendors’ event in Ventura County, then while driving through Costa Mesa, she began to feel severe gastric pain.

“I started having stomach cramps and thought something was off,” she recalled in
