Man’s death draws big police presence, but officials say it’s not criminal

PENNSAUKEN TWP. — The death of a man in a home on Mansion Boulevard does not appear to be criminal, authorities have said.

<![CDATA[]]>

“At this time, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office does not anticipate any criminal charges to be filed regarding the incident,” said Alexandra McVeigh, a spokeswoman for the office.

Police previously told 6abc that an officer found the man around 9:20 p.m. Monday when someone flagged him down while he was patrolling.

Outside the house at 6004 Mansion Blvd. Tuesday morning, individuals who identified themselves as family declined to speak with a reporter. They examined the broken glass in the house’s front door along with a crime scene clean-up team that was at the home.

A neighbor on Frostoffer Avenue said that police woke him up around 3 a.m. to ask him if a yellow stake in his yard belonged

Prosecutors seek life sentence in Lubbock woman’s ‘inhumane’ stabbing death

Courtney Boyd, an assistant Lubbock County district attorney, stood before jurors Tuesday and used her opening statement to prepare them for the gruesome case they were about to hear. She told them that, after hearing the evidence in the case, she was confident they would find the only punishment that would bring justice to the family of a slain 23-year-old woman was a life sentence for her killer, Ruben Ramos III.

“Nothing changes the cruelty of the crime you’re going to see,” she said. “Nothing fixes the inhumane way Nakasha Nolan died.”

Ferndale son beat father to death, kept body for days in garage, police say

A Ferndale man beat his father to death with a hammer, hid his body in a garage for 1 ½ weeks, and dug a grave in the backyard to cover up the murder, according to police.

On Tuesday police responded to a faded pink two-story house at 6164 Grouse Circle, because a concerned family member hadn’t seen William Herman Koop Jr., 65, for weeks. At the home officers spoke with William’s son, Christopher Gregory Koop, 39, who confessed that his father’s body was in the two-car garage, police said.

Christopher Koop told officers they got into an argument over bills on April 13, when he “snapped” and repeatedly punched his father. He knocked his father out, got a hammer, and beat his unconscious father over the head, according to a prosecutor’s summary of the charges read in court.
