Hernando deputies arrest man suspected in Tuesday double homicide

BROOKSVILLE Deputies announced on Friday that they have arrested a man they believe shot and killed a mother and daughter and gravely injured a third person inside their home Tuesday night.

Khristian Donyell Francis, 23, of Brooksville faces two counts of first-degree murder and one count each of attempted first-degree murder and armed burglary, according to the Hernando County Sheriffs Office.

Detectives say Francis killed Taneta Morrell, 40, and her daughter, Brene Marshall, a junior at Hernando High School who was set to turn 17 on Friday. Francis also injured Adolphus Washington, 36, who deputies believe was Morrells boyfriend, the Sheriffs Office said.

All three lived together, and investigators could not immediately determine a motive.

Execution-style triple murder led to peaceful arrest in Florida, police say – The Courier

Louisville police steered away Monday from revealing what investigators learned about what triggered a fatal shooting spree last Thursday in Pleasure Ridge Park that left three adults dead and two pre-schoolers without their parents.

Instead, they gave a shout out to help from two Florida county sheriff’s departments and the tracking technology OnStar that helped locate and capture suspect Christopher Olivio, 46, of Spring Hill, Florida, last Saturday night.

Police found brother and sister Mike Miles, 27, and Geneva Miles, 39, each dead from a gunshot wound to the head. Mike’s wife, Catherine Miles, 24, died from multiple gunshot wounds. The three were found Friday afternoon at a home in the 6400 block of Venango Drive after Catherine Miles’ worried relatives had alerted police after failing to reach her.

“He was not an angry man. He was a kind, gentle soul,” the victim’s mother, Cathy Hamilton, said.

Cathy Hamilton and her husband now have a sense of closure amid the news that police have now nabbed two men in connection with her son’s murder.

“Losing a loved one to murder is never easy, and all those involved want to bring justice for the family of the victim. I am so grateful that we have two arrests in Michael’s case,” Cathy Hamilton said. “They are no longer among us, and they are now behind bars.”

Thanks to DNA evidence, Kadian Roper was arrested a few days ago and charged with first-degree murder.
