ZACHARY – Opening statements began Monday in the Jace Crehan murder trial. He’s accused of the 2015 murder of Robert Noce, the man convicted of molesting his girlfriend.
“I want you to think about choices and I want you to think about consequences,” was the opening line for the prosecution.
Meanwhile, Crehan’s defense team compared his case to a modern-day Romeo and Juliet. Crehan and his lover, Brittany Monk, are both charged in Noce’s death, however she pleaded guilty to manslaughter, a lesser charge.
They’re accused of killing Noce and stuffing him inside a barrel.
Monk was repeatedly sexually abused as a child by Noce, according to the prosecution and court records. He was sentenced to five years probation for abusing Monk, one month before he was found dead, inside of a barrel at his home.
