Stabbing Near REI Santa Monica, Victim Hospitalized – Patch

SANTA MONICA, CA – Santa Monica Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in front of REI on 4th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard Friday afternoon.

The attacker got away, but police released a picture of the man captured by the victim after he was stabbed.

According to an official with the Santa Monica Police Department, the stabbing occurred sometime after noon. When officers arrived on scene, the victim had multiple stab wounds in the upper torso, back, and legs, according to police officials. The victim has been transported to a local hospital in with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The type of weapon used in the stabbing incident is still outstanding. The suspect is a white male, in his 20s or 30s, thin build, with long, light brown hair pulled into a bun or ponytail. He’s wearing all black clothing including a possible hooded sweatshirt, pants, shoes, and a black backpack,
