Teen guilty of ‘vicious, savage’ first-degree murder that included …

MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI – The teen who stabbed a young pregnant mom to death after breaking into her home took the murder to a “vicious, savage place” when he also raped her, a judge declared from the bench Tuesday.

Muskegon County Circuit Judge Annette Smedley ruled Christopher Marks Howard committed first-degree murder when he killed Dominique DaShay O’Neal on June 24, 2015.

Howard had pleaded guilty to open murder Monday, and on Tuesday attorneys argued before Smedley whether the crime was first-degree or second-degree murder. Smedley said it was first-degree murder due to the fact the murder was committed during the commission of another crime, which was home invasion and possibly first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Also on Tuesday, Howard pleaded no contest to causing the death of O’Neal’s 23-week-old male fetus. Howard was 17 at the time of the attack.

Gruesome video of Twin Peaks aftermath shown during day 12 of trial

WACO – The grim reality of what happened at Twin Peaks during the biker shootout was made clear to the jury on Thursday as the trial for Bandido Jake Carrizal rolled into day 12. Prosecutors showed video from inside and outside the restaurant after the shooting ended and the crime scene was still fresh.

The video showed an empty restaurant with dead bodies sprawled out everywhere, and blood smeared all over the floor. Amber Richardson, City of Waco crime scene technician, walked through the Twin Peaks shooting video of the scene right after the deadly shootout. Everything from bloody bandanas to guns, brass knuckles, and multiple dead bodies. Richardson was called to Twin Peaks around 2:30 p.m. on May 17, 2015, and was assigned to the patio and interior area of the restaurant.

“Basically, I

The extreme cleaners who deal with murders, hoarders and noro outbreaks

The extreme cleaners who deal with murders, hoarders and noro outbreaks

Police officers and paramedics obviously have a difficult job, first to arrive at scenes most of us never have to see.

But we rarely stop to think about the unpleasant work that comes after the crime scene has been analysed, DNA swabs taken and forensics finished.

That’s where extreme cleaners come in: people who scrub away the blood, pick up the dirty needles and do whatever necessary to make the place spotless again.

Julie McHugh, 52, her partner Martha Brady, 58, and Julie’s daughter Debyn, 19, will do the job.

They tackle anything from a murder scene, a bad case of hoarding or even an outbreak of norovirus where there might be vomit and faeces around

The toxic aftermath of an alleged $8m drug bust

Backyard drug labs are popping up ever more frequently throughout Australian suburbs – but what many people don’t know is the toxic trail they leave behind.

A Current Affair was given an inside look at the police squad that spends its days busting the bad labs in Aussie neighbourhoods.

One bust showed a seemingly normal suburban house – a sprinkler on the lawn, a normal interior.

However, police will allege the ensuite bathroom included a selection of equipment used for drying drugs.

The alleged cook was charged with numerous offences.
Police will allege there were enough precursor chemicals to produce $8 million worth of MDA.

In the spare bedroom, next to a huge Lego collection, police claim they found a similarly designated area.

“They had sufficient laboratory equipment to produce great quantities of MDA,” Detective Inspector Denzil Clark of the Queensland Police Drug Squad said.

He said police would allege there were sufficient precursor chemicals to

Jurors Say Menendez Brothers Served Long Enough

The Menendez brothers were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on July 2, 1996. Over 20 years after the trial, the ninth juror, Hazel Thornton, believes the brothers have served long enough.

“My blood went cold because I had never seen a killer before,” said Thornton after seeing the brothers for the first time in court. “That was my first jury experience.”

The cold that she felt 21 years ago has warmed up in present day, along with alternate juror Betty Burke Oldfield. Oldfield originally believed the Menendez brothers were “rich spoiled kids that killed their parents.”

“There is no way I would think that today,” she admitted.

‘I Did Not Want to Discuss It With Anyone’

From Mule Creek Prison, Lyle Menendez talks about the confession tape that would ultimately lead to his arrest for the murder of his parents.

"Horrific Crime Scene Revisited" at UW Platteville

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (WMTV)— The University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s seventh annual Horrific Crime Scene Revisited event will take place Saturday, Nov. 4 and Sunday, Nov. 5 at the Forensic Investigation Crime Scene House at Pioneer Farm.

With more than 250 attendees last year, this highly anticipated event provides UW-Platteville students, faculty, staff and community members the opportunity to explore the field of forensics without leaving Platteville.

“The scene we set up is always new and different,” said Kimberly Waite, forensic liaison for the UW-Platteville Criminal Justice Association. “Many students and community members are interested in either crime scene shows or actual crime scene processing techniques, so we draw quite the crowd.”

By recreating a famous homicide scene from the past, attendees assess a realistic crime scene set-up including mannequins posing as victims, walls splattered with artificial blood, rugs with temporary footprint impressions and more. Once

A disturbing new case gets under the Mindhunter team’s skin

It had to happen sooner or later: The Mindhunter monster squad finally found a killer they can’t stand.

Actually, withstand is a better word for it. After all, it’s not like Holden Ford, Bill Tench, and Wendy Carr like any of the murderous men they’ve interviewed. It’s just that they’ve been able to put up with all of them well enough to keep working on the project in relative peace. While the investigation did cost Wendy her relationship, that’s because of the job itself, not the work she’s doing as a part of it. Bill’s problems with his wife Nancy had to do with parenting, not his profession, and to the extent that anything was wrong with Holden and Debbie it’s mostly because she’s one of
