A Baldwin County grand jury has returned a seven-count indictment against a 35-year-old Milledgeville man in connection with the shooting death of a woman at a local convenience store earlier this year.
The fatal shooting was captured on store surveillance video.
Grand jurors convened last week in Baldwin County Superior Court and returned the multi-count indictment against David Renfro, according to records filed in the Baldwin County Superior Court Clerk’s Office.
The murder, which authorities described as “a random shooting,” claimed the life of 49-year-old Rita “Faye” Heron, who worked as a department manager at the Walmart store in Milledgeville. The shooting was witnessed by two of the victim’s grandchildren, ages 6 and 8, authorities said.
