Three people were killed and another person was injured Friday morning in Gentilly, New Orleans police said.
According to a police log, officers responding to a shooting found one victim with a gunshot wound and “three other victims who had expired.”
Details, including the ages of the victims and how they were killed, were not immediately available. Two of those killed were male and one was female.
Police Superintendent Michael Harrison and investigators were on the scene at the corner of Touro and Mandolin streets. The incident was initially reported around 5 a.m.
Harrison at one point said “children were involved.” He later said he could not confirm that children were among those killed or injured.
At one point Friday morning, a crying man rushed toward the tan brick house, yelling “That’s my daughter! Those are my grandkids!” But he was held back by officers.
