SUMAVA RESORTS, Ind. — Court documents recently released in a Newton County triple homicide reveal new details about the investigation and the bloody crime scene.
The Journal Courier attended a court hearing Dec. 14 to request transcripts or recordings from several probable cause hearings in the hours following the gruesome Aug. 28 discovery of three bodies covered in stab wounds.
The transcripts were released Wednesday, revealing new evidence leading up to the arrests of Sebastian M. Wedding and Derrick Thomas Cardosi, both 24.
During an Aug. 29 probable cause hearing, for example, a detective said he had recently spoken with Wedding’s ex-girlfriend, who said she was with him at 8:45 p.m. the night of the slayings.
