Louisiana Man Joel Michael Guy Jr. Accused Of Murdering, Dismembering Parents During Thanksgiving Visit [Video]

A Thanksgiving visit allegedly turned into a double homicide at the hands of Louisiana man Joel Michael Guy Jr., according to investigators. The 28-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with the vicious stabbing deaths of his parents, a crime that law enforcement say took place at the pair’s Tennessee home.

As Fox News reports, Joel Michael Guy Jr. was staying with his parents over Thanksgiving weekend when the unthinkable crimes allegedly occurred. Police think that the victims, 61-year-old Joel Michael Guy Sr. and 55-year-old Lisa Guy were murdered some time on the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving. Their son, Joel Michael Guy Jr., was arrested at his Louisiana home on Tuesday after a fugitive warrant was issued out of Tennessee.

Bloody crime scene, burned body leads to murder charge

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — An empty, bloody crime scene in Providence. A burned body in Lincoln. And later, an arrest in Central Falls.

David DeLeon, 19, was arraigned Monday in District Court in Providence on charges that he shot and killed a man on Nov. 20 in Providence’s Lower South Side. The police believe DeLeon then disposed of his victim in a Lincoln field and set the body on fire.

The first indications of a crime came about when Providence police officers responded to a tip about gunshots on Gordon Avenue at 10 p.m. on Nov. 20. They found a bloody scene.

Maj. David Lapatin said officers believed a shooting had occurred hours earlier and, based on the amount of blood, feared it had been fatal.

Minutes later on that same night, emergency workers extinguishing a brush fire on Lincoln Meadows Road in Lincoln

Providence police find bloody scene but no victim or assailant

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Providence police responded to 112 Gordon Ave. at about 10 p.m. Sunday after someone, whom the police are not identifying, called in a shooting.

When detectives arrived they found “what they believed was a crime scene,” Maj. David Lapatin said.

There was no victim and no assailant but a lot of blood, Lapatin said.

Shortly after, Lincoln firefighters found the charred remains of an adult while putting out a brush fire on Lincoln Meadows Drive.

Lapatin said he is not saying this is the Gordon Avenue victim, but stressed that the Providence police “have an interest in what happened in Lincoln.”

Correction: An earlier version of this story misstated the time when the police arrived at the scene.

My Life as a Crime Scene Cleaner

“I felt pain in my heart for this man. It’s sad when someone leaves this earth, but the ones left behind are the most affected. We are the ones who go on living…and remembering.” What is left in the silent moments after the grim reaper has come and gone? The author of Bloodstains and Ball Gowns: My Life as a Crime Scene Cleaner discovers the answer once she leaves a glamorous life in the beauty industry to begin her ‘secret life’ in the underworld of crime scene cleaning. She enters a world that tells what happens in the neighborhood when the sun goes down, when blood is spilt and lives are lost. Her world becomes one of caravan parks, views of dried grass and withered trees through smashed windows, and the blood, gore and aftermath of tragedies when love goes wrong. Her job is to make it look as though it never happened.

Pam Frampton: Monster within the gate – The Digby Courier

“Ever since Reeva’s death I have spent my time on my veranda, at two or three in the morning. I smoke my cigarettes. I think of Reeva every day, every day of my life, morning, noon and night … I talk to her every day in my head … my daughter.”
— Barry Steenkamp, father of Reeva Steenkamp, U.K. Guardian, July 6

On Feb. 9, 2013, Reeva Steenkamp retweeted this tweet from @Relationship: “When you fall in love with someone’s personality everything about them becomes beautiful.”

Five days later, she was shot four times through a bathroom door by her boyfriend, Oscar Pistorius, in his upscale gated neighbourhood in Pretoria, South Africa.

The day before, Steenkamp had retweeted this tweet:

“WEAR BLACK THIS FRIDAY IN SUPPORT AGAINST #RAPE AND WOMAN ABUSE #BLACKFRIDAY”

Gates can’t keep violence out if it dwells within them.

An actor, model and law graduate, 29-year-old Steenkamp advocated against relationship violence and

Crime Scene Cleaners Describe How Dealing with Death Every Day Changes You

Cleaning. It’s not for everyone, but personally, I quite enjoy it. I’m one of those irritating people who finds distinct satisfaction in the noise of things being sucked into the nozzle of a vacuum or in wiping sticky residue off the kitchen counter.

It’s all strangely therapeutic for me, which is probably the reason I enjoyed Spotless so much— a TV series from Esquire Network featuring a handsome Frenchman who owns a crime scene clean-up business. Cue lots of scenes of him using a cotton-bud to painstakingly rub spots of blood from surfaces, gently wiping down door handles, and methodically using a backlight to check for traces of body matter. His team has the job of tidying it all up, and it’s orgasmic viewing for a neat freak like me.

But this is television: Slick and shiny and all over rather quickly. How easy is it in real life? What’s it

Double homicide at Old Montrose

The double murder of retired nurse Avis Israel and her son Ronald Israel has sent shockwaves through the small community of Old Montrose and according to a relative, the family is shaken to the core.

Yesterday morning, a friend of Avis, 75 and Ronald, 47, discovered Ronalds body on the porch of their Old Montrose home and alerted the police, who then discovered Avis in the house dead, apparently from head injuries, as appeared to be the case with her son.

Speaking to members of the media on the porch where Ronalds body was found, Avis great nephew Patrick McIntosh told reporters that this was the first time that the family has had to deal with something of this nature and magnitude.

McIntosh was the only member of the family in a frame of mind to speak to the media. He described the murders as a complete shock.

Everybody in the family is peaceful

Convicted killer denied parole

A local family is breathing a little easier because a man who killed their loved one will remain behind bars.

Tony D. Hartsell will spend at least another three years in prison.

Hartsell is serving a life sentence for killing 84-year-old Merle Lee Guinn 23 years ago. Though time has passed, the wounds will never completely heal, says Guinn’s niece, Donna Avagliano.

Avagliano remembers her aunt as a caring, church-going woman who had concerns about living alone. The retired hairdresser’s fears were realized when a neighbor broke in and stabbed her to death.

Hartsell talked with media shortly after the lethal attack, expressing sorrow for the loss of his neighbor. He later found himself charged with the woman’s death, and in 1995 he was convicted of first-degree murder.

Sentenced to life in prison, Hartsell still has a chance of being set free. Because of changes in sentencing structures, Hartsell’s
